Wish List Mania

I love the brads on our Make and Take - but ..

...I forgot to order mine when I put my last large order in - I have to say that sucks! I wanted the large Pretty in Pink ones. Well, that is what you get when you make too many substitutions to your wish list - and le-het me tell you - my wish lists go through many, many, maaaa-nnnnnn-y transformations!

I don't know about any other demos - or you crafty people out there, but I think it is actually a past-time of mine to make wish lists! LOL! Seriously - I think it is!

But that is the fun part! Next - comes the editing! My brain thinks: yes! yes!; but my budget says: no! no! So the process begins.....make a demo order on our online system, save and exit. Satisfied. Come back the next day, lop off a couple after seeing the total, save and exit. Done. Come back again - look at the total { it's not sooo bad?}...put a few more things on - there! Cool, I'm done. Or am I? And so for a few hours or days, I lop some off, put some more back on, yada yada yada!

But finally, my order emerges...its form, at this point, to me, looks like a work of art! It's never quite as large as I like it to be, but its satisfying anyways. Just think of what my customers can do - what I can do - yeahhhhh!

And then we all know.....what is coming next....the delivery!!!!!

Feb Make and Take - Demo Night

Well....ta da! Here is what we made as our Make and Take at our INKS meeting - which was the essentially at the same time & place as the Stampin' Palooza Demo Night. We just did it at the end is all!

I sooo want this tag die - its our Tag #2 in the Bigz die section for The Big Shot. What I didn't realize was that the little tag closed - so cute! I like that the tags are versatile! The tags can be folded obviously, but I would like them in the long format - great space to decorate. I'll scoot around to see if there are more pics of them somewhere.

Meanwhile, the card has the yummy colours of chocolate and red - which is just as beautiful as chocolate and pink! Either one reminds me of choclate in all its glory....chocolate cupcakes with pink frosting and red heart sprinkles - and wouldn't this card look smashing with that!!!

I love these brads!

More photos from Demo Night....

I am always enthusiatic about our flock's gatherings - but this was my first time at Caro's {Caroline} Stampin Palooza - I was gleefully curious! I also arrived early, so here is what it looks like as the early birds {no pun intended - ha ha} see it. Here are a couple of other lovely chirps and that is my suede brown tote bag! And the red bag {see it peeking just above the table?} are the goodie bags - for demos attending the big event Sat. It had lots of luscious goodies in it....maybe next time I can go and have my own red bag!

Love the blue chairs!

This lovely lady is the motivational and US Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Linda Hansen! She was the highlight of the evening - and we heard her speak about her 'life's sketches' as she likes to call them, ranging from the sentimental {re her mother's passing} to the absurd { a dead cat, a thief - that's all I'm sayin'! ha ha}. Plus she recanted about her weight loss - can you believe looking at her that she has lost 105 (?) pounds! I know I have been on the tread mill lately, but geez! Very nice looking lady with a big - HUGE - enthusiasm for life, and a heart of gold, I suspect! Go Linda!
Boards - boards and boards! Of course, there should be some boards to show what the heck we demos are making! Sorry peeps, but I made some awful shaky pictures {my camera is going - really!}...but I got a few to show you! There are some 12x12 pages featuring the abilities of our My Digital Studio software. That was nice for me to see because I have yet to acquire MDS! Was too busy buying up the Occasions cataloque! Always somethin' right?

Looks like demos from another previous Palooza? Anyways love the butterfly page! I don't think Caro will mind me saying - see her hubby Brent holding the mike up to the lady in the photo below? He was working the AV for us Friday night - and very patiently took our group photo! He is also a Big Shot expert - and Caro calls him "Big Shot Brent" - so hey, Brent - that means you're a VIP - a big shot! Anyways, we'd all be lucky to have Brent helping us at our events :)
You know we bring things - here's one of mine. I was thinkin' Easter already. And Pretty in Pink's time is right now with valentine's and all. So have a look at some of the goodies on display - lots of new items featured! Pretty boards - I must make one very soon! Enjoy!

Well - I wish now I had made more photos - because I missed a few things I could show you!! We were treated to lovely cookies and coffee bar, and then there is us at the end as we run to the craft tables to make our Make and Takes. I'll show what we made next! Whoo hoo!

Demos flock to Stampin Palooza!

Like birds flocking to the Mother Bird when she calls - we gathered for Demo Night with our upline Caroline to kick-off her stampin' palooza event held last Saturday.

That's me 2nd from the left, back row. Just like in high school, taller ones go to the back!
I am part of Caroline or Caro as I refer to her when typing - {sorry Caroline but I shorten all names longer than 4 letters :)}....... Canadian INKS team - her downline of demo's. Yay INKS!

When will I meet Shelli?

Shelli Gardner. How often have I heard this name! I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Shelli....and maybe that should be a side story in itself - the Adventures of Beverly as she trys to Meet Shelli!

It does appear - to me - having not met her - that meeting Shelli and having your picture taken with her is something akin to the Holy Grail of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators! Next is having touched someone who is "right up with her" on that grand level of the Stampin' Up stars!

So for me, this is a bit curious. When will I meet her? Will I meet her? are the pop-ups in my head when I see a picture or Youtube of her, I can't help myself - it just pops in there. If I dwell on it, then I start thinking "What are my chances of going to Convention!!!" Which then brings up a hundred pop-ups, so I shut down thinking about that - because going to "ConVENtion" is another maybe lesser Holy Grail for another post.

So I start entertaining the thought about if we will have the pleasure of a Regional in Toronto? And did we ever have a Regional in Toronto - I would have to think we must of, seems reasonable! But I am a relatively 'new' demo, and that would be something I would have to look up - so its not without some slice of glee that I entertain the possibility of seeing Shelli come to a Toronto Regional.

For some other lucky bandits - who stole her away from the bulk of us with their wonderful results in a SU Challenge, Shelli will be attending their very own workshops this coming year! How's that for those demos, they must go to bed now with ongoing dreams of the moment Shelli crosses through their doors? Maybe I will be lucky enough to attract one here later to tell us what that was like! Like living vicariously through some lucky demo!

Imagine that she is coming to your home - what will you entertain her with? Maybe while they are dreaming of her coming through their doors - in such a lovely manner, then they start to panic in their dreams because their beautifully decorated cupcakes have been eaten by the dog! And there are cupcake icing paw prints all around the house! Darn - why did we get that dog! But wait! the dreamer thinks! "I have stencilled kitchen towels (thoughtfully made with out fabulous Decor Stencils - just like I saw in the picture of Shelli's lovely and stencilled wardrobe) - so I'll whisk one out and wipe them up! " And Shelli admires her with a "Aww - you are so co-ordinated!" .....ok, now I have just had another jealous thought - what IF Shelli shows up with a decorated tray of cupcakes! It's not faaaaairrr!!!

So it appears that I have - unwittingly - become part of this conscious SU demonstrator wave that thinks of 'Meeting Shelli' - sort of like the one consciousness of the Borg - it is inevitable! Do not resist! [please do not make comments to me if you are a Star Trek fan - unless, you are a Star Trek fan AND a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator .....wait, that would be me! ]

And that means I will reserve a special section simply called "Shelli" because there is so much that does revolve around her - she is the lead image of the company, she commands a lot of respect for the very first reason of being a woman entrepreneur - even before now where we think being a woman entrepreneur is no biggie.

So this is all starting to make me think...."when WILL I meet Shelli?"

One more thing...

One of those dimensions to being a demonstrator is learning the technical side of blogging, and participating in the social media. And so like many, I am on a learning curve myself here.

So bear with me as I totally - as a 'technical newb' or maybe 'techno weak' is the opposite of techno geek - and that would be me! .....do the technical things to my blog. I am not going to ask my daughter - no,no,no! No, I will do it myself - so this should be laughable - but maybe not! Maybe I'll find some computer legs to stand on - maybe there are people 'out there' who will help me! I sure hope so because right now I'm thinking that I am going to need a new banner - and soon! LOL!

Welcome to My Life as a Stampin' Up! Demo!

Hi! A BIG WELCOME!

If you are a demo yourself or just curious to see what the experience is like - then I hope to share our fun , our zany - and even our frustrating times when we're banging our heads against the fridge sobbing "why!" Anything and all to provide you with a glimpse into what this experience can be!

I have for some time now thought how it can be just as interesting to find out what goes into creating classes, workshops and just what that all means for someone like myself. It's definitely an 'experience' for sure - and it can be a very creative in and of itself! There's so much more to being a demonstrator than cutting paper and making sure we have enough ribbon on hand for a class - it involves our families, our circle of friends we're making - and so it has a bigger impact than you might imagine!

So hopefully, I can have a few other demonstrators share their thoughts and experiences here for you...I will scour the internet to glean bits of gold where I find them, and bring some of my enthusiasm for this fabulous lifestyle!

cheerfully yours,
Beverly
